Malifaux: Creative Taxidermy

I’m a little disappointed in this box. It’s got all the models to max out the Rarity for both Stuffed Piglets and Gremlin Taxidermist, which is kind of nice. The two Taxidermists have distinct sculpts (although they’re very similar). I’m much more likely to have a ton of Stuffed Piglets, though, and there are only three sculpts. If I’m going to have to buy all six, I’d like to get unique ones.

Well, I bought anyways, and solved it with paint. I was feeling a little less creative than with regular Piglets, so I kept it simple. Since they’re supposed to be Undead, I gave one set a green zombie skin tone.

The others I used a standard pink flesh. I think the sculpts should be distinct enough to refer to them when needed.

The supervisors have awesome hair. It seems like these guys ought to be a little older and wiser than most Gremlins, having gone through six years of taxidermy school and everything. So I gave them wisened gray hair.

Guild Ball: Rage and Gutter

Wrapping up Guild Ball week are two models from the Union, the mercenary faction in Guild Ball.

Gutter
Gutter

Gutter was my Adepticon VIG freebie. Her model is a bit slight, but she gets a lot of love on the internet. I decided to go with a primary purple color (the official Union faction color), and my Engineers deep red as the accent color to tie it together.

Rage
Rage

I don’t quite know why Rage has a rabbit on his belt, but I dig it. Also, he has an awesome hat and beard.

That wraps up my Guild Ball. I feel like I’ve got a nice starting set of models, although I haven’t worked out what my preferred six is yet. I have gotten in a couple of games, and I dig the tight ruleset.

Guild Ball: Colossus

Colossus rounds out the Season One Engineers models. On a 50mm base, he’s big and heavy.

Colossus
Colossus

Colossus’ legs are separate pieces, with ball sockets connecting to the center piece. It was rather difficult to get them all positioned together. In the end, I cheated, between the rock and the reaching pose. I think it works, but it makes fitting in foam difficult.

Colossus represented a merging of the wooden mecha and uniformed looks, which pulls the aesthetic of the team together.
