It’s practically time for book 6 for Malifaux, so I guess I should get started on book 5.
I don’t think I sold the scars very well on her arms and torso. Or the skin tone in general. At least her dress looks nice.
I’ve played a few games with her. So far I’ve gotten so fixated on her healing and passing out Black Blood that I don’t get far enough forward to even try out the self-summoning.
I’ve never actually felt like I figured out the whole summoning thing in Malifaux, Somer included. I don’t let that stop me from growing my collection, of course.
Like with Pandora, I mostly kept to the same color choices. The biggest change is with the hat color. The hat and boot are both Secret Weapon rust acrylics.
Fresh(ish) off a points drop, Miss Deed joins my collection of mercenaries.
The tiny tiny eyes are much harder, and less convincing, here than the giant chibi eyes. But I’m quite happy with the jacket. I used the Secret Weapon rust colors, which I’m really liking for organic browns and reds.
I’ve actually been afraid of chibi style models for a long time. Eyes are usually my weak spot, and chibis are all about the eyes. But the eyes are huge, which makes it relatively easy to do a good job.
I picked up two with the idea that my wife could paint one. Together with the kids, it would be a whole family affair. My wife has, from time to time, shown some interest in miniature painting. But this is not one of those times. So I had to paint it. Poor me.
The big bold colors are a lot of fun, and it turns out there’s nothing to be afraid of. I don’t really have any games to motivate these models, but I think I’ll still sneak some in from time to time.
