I think the Annihilators are my favorite of the Stormcast troops in the Dominion box. They’ve got a bulk to them without being overweight. And the shields are pretty awesome.
Annihilators
I wanted the bases on my Stormcast to be halfway between the stone of my Fyreslayers and the swamp of the Kruleboyz. If I keep some of the gravel basing on all the Order armies, they can at least somewhat fit together as a allied force.
I’ve made my way through the Stormcast heroes in the Dominion box. Let’s get started on the infantry.
Stormcast Praetors
With red as the principal accent color on the Stormcast, I had to use it on the cloaks. I used Tamiya panel liner on the lettering in the banners to improve the contrast.
The Knight-Arcanum is the last of the characters on the Stormcast side of the Dominion box. The comes with a built in head rest.
Knight-Arcanum
I’ve used purple as an accent color on a few of the models, including hair. It sits between the red and blue, so doesn’t exactly stand out. But red, blue, and green is too boring sometimes.
The Knight-Vexillor has a giant banner. I think this is, by a pretty significant margin, the largest banner I’ve painted. The sculpted detail looks a little weird, but it certainly beats anything I would freehand.
Knight-Vexillor with Banner of Apotheosis
I’ve started using Tamiya Liner paints as a pin wash. The thin enamel paint wicks along edges super well, and cleans up nicely when needed. On this model, I used it in the lettering on the banners and sword. It gives a better contrast that I’ve been getting with acrylic washes.
