Amathor Arch Mage is one of the many Reaper models I bought ages ago in my high school D&D days. I painted him up a while ago now, as a change from endless piles of Ultramarines.
I think he may be my very favorite of the Reaper models I’ve painted. The beard has just enough texture to be interesting. I ended up entering him into the painting competition for Celesticon 2013.
I bought this guy many years ago, then painted it sometime in 2013, as a break from painting Ultramarines. It’s a simple model, but I like how bright the green turned out, and how the colors go together in general.
I bought these Eldar Rangers in the same store closing sale as a numberofothermodels about a year ago. They are Finecast, and were a big pain to clean up. Most of the gems has some kind of flash on them, for example.
I painted them months ago. Looking at them now, that pain has mostly faded and I’m really happy with how they look.
The blue cloaks are the Reaper Ultramarine Blue colors I’ve been using as the accent color for both Eldar and Dark Eldar. As I recall, I airbrushed everything blue shades and mids, then highlighted the cloaks and painted the orange armor, helmet, gun, and details by hand.
It makes for a pretty bad camouflage, but I really like the striking difference in the color. The armor also ties nicely into the rest of the army.
The details on the rear are probably the weakest parts, but also the parts hit hardest by the cast quality.
I’m very happy with how this unit turned out, despite how much I hated them at the time.
Here is yet another of the Reaper Bones Kickstarter models I painted up a while ago, Judas, Necropolis Warlord.
Nothing too exciting, just a quick evening of brush time. The chipped bit is probably from drybrushing the cloak without letting the base color cure enough.
