Continuing to flesh out the Arcanist collection (and clear out my stash of limited models), Alt Firestarter comes out to play.
Alt Firestarter
Fire is not one of my strengths, but I love the dynamism of the pose. I continue to do a tiny tiny amount of OSL, with orange highlights on the boots and straps. It might be too subtle, but it helps.
I’ve played the Dark Carnival crew a couple of times now. While I’m pretty well set on bigbeaters, I’m lacking in smaller models. Arcane Effigy, with condition removal, fits the bill nicely.
Arcane EffigyThis little guy is deceptively tricky. All the arms and candle holders make for a spindly assembly. Then when painting, the insides of the leg straps are hard to get to. They’re visible enough that you can’t ignore them.
Small point units really help to fill out a list. Hammerhead time.
M901 ITV
First up, the M901 ITV. These are done up pretty much stock, like the rest of the my Team Yankee force.
FIST (M113A2 based)
The Team Yankee rulebooks show the FIST as being in a stock M113. The real thing was more like the ITV, with a very similar turret housing the laser targeter. I wanted it to stand out a bit more from the ITVs, so converted the chassis to add the armored fuel tanks on the rear like an M113A3/A3.
One of the things I really miss with Resistance is light dropships. Battle Buses are supposed to help fill the gap, so let’s give it a whirl.
I’m not super excited about the weapons (I tend to play lite on upgrades), but I magnetized the howdahs to futureproof the models a bit.
Battle Bus (blue)
I’ve seen a lot of these done up as yellow school buses. Always trying to be the special snowflake, I decided on a sherrif’s blue bus instead. For bonus fun, that would make a lot of the slats pre-existing.
Battle Bus (white)
I thought this bus looked like a tour bus, which around us tend to be white with a logo somewhere.
Battle Bus (con model)
The con model was too cool not to leave open topped, so it gets to be armed.
