Underwords: The Dread Pageant

The other warband in the Direchasm box is The Dread Pageant. This four-model crew features more diverse models than their boxmates, Myari’s Purifiers.

Glissete

This warband gave me an excuse to play with purples and blues, which was fun.

Hadzu

I still struggle with lighter colored bases like this. At least it contrasts nicely with the model and statues that make the base details.

Slakeslash

I think it would be hard to put on a shirt with a crab-arm like this.

Vasillac the Gifted

Looking at this now, it would have been cooler to make the shield fleshy instead of metallic.

Underworlds: Myari’s Purifiers

Myari’s Purifiers is one of the two warbands in Direchasm, the latest season box for Underworlds.

Ailenn, the Mind’s Edge

I haven’t been keeping close eye on the Age of Sigmar factions, but I guess these are representatives of a new kind of elf.

Bahannar

All the models are exceptionally tall, making fitting them into foam tricky.

Myari Lightcaller

Myari’s owl is way cooler than Farstrider’s eagle. Fight me.

Senaela

I’m getting more confident painting white. The secret, of course, is not to actually use white, but various grays.

Underworlds: Thundrik’s Profiteers

Back to hobby popcorn, Underworlds warbands. This time, it’s one from the Nightvault cycle, Thundrik’s Profiteers.

Bjorgen Thundrik

I have a few Kharadron Overlords models from my brief foray into Age of Sigmar. Maybe I’ll use them together sometime, so I followed that scheme pretty closely.

Dead-eye Lund

I’m not quite sure I like guns in fantasy settings. But mecha’d up dwarves are hard to say no to.

Enrik Ironhail

The best part is the beard armor.

Garodd Alensen

Hey look, some gems!

Khazgan Drakkskewer

I guess a flight stand might be too much to ask for in Underworlds. Anchor it is.

Underworlds: Grymwatch

Underworlds continues to be a bunch of fun bite-sized hobby projects. This one is the Grymwatch, the undead warband from the Beastgrave cycle.

Duke Crackmarrow

The summoning mechanic here is different from the Sepulchral Guard back in the first year. Instead of needing to spend an activation to return dead models to the board, Duke Crackmarrow gets to call one for free at the start of each turn, arriving at a board edge.

There’s a fun mix of ghouls in the warband, doing nasty things with the remains of their enemies.

Valreek the Tracker

I’m not quite sure how one impales a skull on back hair, but I believe in Valreek.

Duke’s Harriers

Also, giant bats!
