Relicblade: Storms of Kural Advocate

The Storms of Kural, Relicblade’s latest Kickstarter, has a great sampling of new characters from the various thematic factions in Relicblade. I already got the alternate sculpts for the Lone Guard Infiltrator and Warden of Justice, so I focused on the brand the characters.

Gnome Grenadier

This hat gives me a strong David the Gnome vibe, so I leaned into it.

Wild Elf Witch

If the magic doesn’t work, don’t worry, there’s still a knife in tow.

Relicblade: Adepticon Alts plus a bonus Cat

These alts, slated for release at the Adepticon that wasn’t, were so popular they sold out within hours. Fortunately they were reprinted for slowpokes like me.

Lone Guard Infiltrator

They also act as previews for the currently running Storms of Kural Kickstarter. The project is for a new two-player starter set, featuring two four model warbands, each model representing a different faction. The stat cards were released in the second edition rulebook, but these are the first models available.

Iguan Marauder

The starter set is all single piece models, to be more accessible to people unfamiliar with metal models. These alt poses wouldn’t work in a single piece, but they aren’t exactly complex (torso and arms). I like slight posability, plus it would be easier to do simple conversions.

Warden of Justice

As a bonus, have a cat. You can never have too many cats in Relicblade.

Sabertooth
A Iguan Marauder comes down the stairs to find a wizard about to light the brazier.

Relicblade: Lone Guard Commander

The Lone Guard Commander is the final Advocate model from the latest Relicblade Kickstarter. He’s an individual model that thematically goes with the Lone Guard faction pack.

For the Lone Guard human characters I used the same three colors in different combinations of pants, shirt, and cloak. I needed the commander to match while still getting a distinctive look. Thus, the orange cloak and shield (unique color) but burgundy accents (common color).

Relicblade: Gnome Battlesmith

The mounted Battlesmith was one of the models that sold me on Relicblade. Well, really it was his ibex. It was time he walked on his own two legs.

Gnome Battlesmith

Characters in Relicblade can’t be dismounted, but I painted him to match his mounted brethren anyways. The kit comes with an alternate head that seems to match the Woggie Woggelbuck Legends character, but I like the helmet version better.
