Fyreslayers: Magmic Battleforge

A friend recently suggested we give Age of Sigmar 3rd edition a go. That was all the excuse I needed to pick up and paint some of the Fyreslayers stuff that had passed me by, starting with the Magmic Battleforge.

Magmic Battleforge

This model is sometimes called the pizza oven, which is apt. But it’s still a nice bit of dwarven architecture. I especially like the dent above the righthand eyebrow.

I magnetized the flames, so I could pull it out to represent the once-per-battle ability being used.

Fyreslayers: Battlesmith

This Battlesmith is the last of my backlogged painted Fyreslayers. I shook things up a bit by making his mohawk the red I use as an accent elsewhere, and a silver helm.

Battlesmith

The Age of Sigmar escalation league I was participating in collapsed, so this is the last of the Sigmar models I’ve painted. I do have enough on sprue to get to a full (if suboptimal) 2000 points. I hope to return to finish it off sometime.

Fyreslayers: Runemaster

I don’t love the rules for the Runemaster, but I do dig the model. Plus, there are few enough non-character options for the Fyreslayers that I feel I need to load up on the characters.

Runemaster

The Runemaster gets the same slate chip base treatment of the other characters. It makes him pretty tall, but it helps him to stand out from the other infantry.

His hair also helps. The Runemaster felt like an elder, so he gets the obvious white hair to match.
