To go with last edition’s Marcus, I picked up the ‘special order’ for the Order Initiates.
Order Initiate (bird lady)
One of my hobby goals for these models was to work on blending, especially between the human and beast portions. The legs I’m pretty happy with. The transition between red and orange/yellow on the wings is more abrupt than I would have liked.
Order Initiate (rhino)
The grays on the legs and torso here I’m quite happy with.
I bought the Marcus box around when the Winter Wonderland alt Rasputina box was release, and quickly painted Myranda and the Cerberus. One of the last things I assembled and prepped for paint before the M3E annoucement was the rest of the box. But then I was less interested in new Malifaux models.
Marcus
Well, now M3E’s been out for a year, so I gotta keep working on that backlog. Marcus got a new box with new sculpts, but that doesn’t invalidate his old one.
Jackalope
Plus, who doesn’t want a rabid rabbit sitting on a human head?
More terrain from Crooked Dice. These tire walls would equally well in a modern or post-apoc setting. They’d probably work in a WWII-era pulp, though probably not much earlier than that.
I continue to slowly put together a terrain collection. You really can never have enough scatter terrain. These pieces are from Crooked Dice, who makes a lovely collection of miniatures and terrain.
Crate Pile (wide)
Crate Pile (tall)
These crates would fit into just about any setting. Fantasy, modern, post-apoc, pulp, you name it.
Barrels (small)
Barrels (medium)
Barrels (large)
The barrels as painted are more of a post-apoc, though they’d probably fit into a modern setting well enough, if it’s for a ramshackle location. The weathering is a bit haphazard, but that’s what makes it fun.
