I know I said I bought more Arena Rex so I could add Legio XIII and get a no-commitment way for people to play with me. But I keep getting distracted by other models from the order. Ooops.
I ended up using the same Secret Weapon rust colors for this model as I did for Euryale (adult). I just love it too much.
Now in its third year, let’s take a look at my hobby work over the past year.
Overview
I started the hobby year working through the Malifaux Black Friday order and getting a few things ready for Adepticon. Then the queue got real. In 2015 I felt I had been a little too stingy at Adepticon. Let’s just say I didn’t have that problem this year.
Hagal is my favorite of my budding Arena Rex collection.. He’s just so imposing. Look at that head, that beard. He is the perfect warrior.
I was pretty nervous starting on Hagal. I like the sculpt so much, but I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull it off. As always, I’m not happy with everything, but at least I’m not embarassed.
Continuing with my Adepticon Arena Rex purchase, Vargr.
Once again, the pose is wild. He’s about to shift directions and mess you up. This was probably the most straightforward of the set – just a bunch of skin tones. As usual, I’m not happy with the blending up close, but it looks nice on the tabletop.
