It&#8217;s been a lot of fun revisiting MCP and exploring it with Ruth. It&#8217;s also given me too many excuses to let the backlog even more out of control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I got a FDM 3D printer this year, for various projects (hobby and otherwise). I haven&#8217;t printed out a ton of terrain, since paint time is the real limiting factor. But I have created a couple of <a href=\"https:\/\/paintedguys.com\/blog\/2025\/11\/30\/cyberpunk-custom-widgets\/\">accessories<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solo board gaming remains a major competitor for hobby time. Since I ran out of Arkham Horror LCG campaigns, I expanded into Marvel Champions. In theory this cross pollinates with MCP. I just finished Sinister Motives and am moving on to the mutant waves. There&#8217;s also Final Girl and digital board games, and Metroid distracting me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Putting that together, I&#8217;ve lost hobby momentum at the end of the year. I dusted off the models from when I played a couple years ago, and greatly expanded my collection. Zone in the middle of the year. I played the Maelstrom from the starter, and Ruth picked Gen Red. Even though I don&#8217;t play GW games on the regular these days, I continue to pick up the boxes and admire the models. Just a few mouse goblins I previously picked up at Adepticon because I thought they looked cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kawna Mouse Goblins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking to 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I expect Crisis Protocol to remain the main game for 2026. There&#8217;s a big pile of models waiting for me. I&#8217;m going to do what I can to keep it going with Ruth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also feel an itch for more solo miniature games. Too many of them \u2014 Rangers of Shadow Deep, Five Parsecs From Home, Don&#8217;t Look Back, and County Road Z are all calling my name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supporting all that, I&#8217;m hoping to take more time on printing (and then painting) terrain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Somehow another year has snuck by.
